Hi
Advise much needed and appreciated for motivating an 22yr old Highland who has not been ridden regularly for over two years.

I have been riding him since April on a weekly basis building up the time we ride in walk trot and the occasional short canter.

we go on hacks and in the school. Hacks he is much better in company and gets a little spooky and nappy on his own, very unconfident out of his little comfort zone and away from his stable mate. Needs constant reassurance.

But I feel like I am boring him! He is getting even worse, totally switched off in the school. He has been there done that in the past. But I feel he is bored of this riding lark! But if he is not being ridden he is just standing in a field.
Really would love to inspire him to become more forward and enjoy to go out and to be ridden again, but don't know how. I have tried ground work, very basic again he is bored, but feel it least gets him moving and he does do the occasional excited buck but that always mounts to nothing.
