bit of a wingey post but VERY frustrated... my mare is lovely but has had some issues... doesnt like a bit (ride bitless)doesnt like to hack alone (is actually fine but spooks a bit) i have come such a long way with her now (was too scared to ride her 4 months ago when i bought her) i am really annoyed as i am not getting enough time to sort her out. OH and I run our own business - he works more than me day and night at mo literally - and i have a toddler - frustrating thing is i get a week where i can ride everyday and shes ace but then dont have time to do her for a week and i am back to square one. Wish i didnt have to put so much work into her all the time!Does anyone have this, bliming annoying isnt it?

What about getting a sharer or paying an experienced rider/instructor to ride twice a week for a bit of consistency for her? My friend pays our instructor to ride hers twice a week and he is much better for it.

Horrible time of year anyway! You will feel a bit better in the spring with more daylight and everything.

I have a similar problem as am self employed and trying to run a website too. I work from home a fair bit and have no children and even I struggle to find time to ride! I deffinately make time at the weekend because they are too expensive not too enjoy but during the week seems impossible even though 2 years ago I was riding most days and fitting work in!!!
I am praying for the lighter mornings to come so I can extend my day and ride first thing, but that is no help to you I guess?
I had a difficult boy that needed constant work and training too but I have got him to a level now where I can 'manage' him when he has not been ridden for a bit. My trouble is he is a cob and puts weight on without work and is then at risk of lami so in the back of my head I am always saying to myself that I must get him out to prevent him being poorly....nightmare. Everyone thinks it is great for me having my own business and 'being at home' alot...what a joke! I never stop longer than for my sleep and to eat my tea! Perhaps I might save 10 mins by not coming on here???!
