Have just been in to the back of my Dad's car to find a rather disgusting pair of kiri's reins that have gone VERY mouldy!!!

What the best thing to do with them other than use them to strangle above mentioned child!!

Warm water. Wipe them over and they should come up fine. Maybe then oil them if stiff at all. It shouldn't do any damage to them.

ETS: some add a very small amount of antibacterial washing up liquid to kill the mould.

BOF gave me a bridle to clean that looked like blue cheese. Absolutely gross!! I cleaned it up with a dilute solution of soda crystals and rinsed. When it was dry I saddle soaped it and now it's like new (actually, it is new!)
