have some questions about moulting if any of you lovely ladies can help me.

having been a dog owner for less than a year im wondering how often dogs moult their seasonal coats.

I have a border collie type short hair slightly rough coated bitch. she moulted her winter coat in june - and what a bloomin mess that was, the car's still coated!! - but now with winter approaching can i expect another shed again this year as a thicker coat grow in or is it a very individual thing down to the breed of dog?

ive heard some breeds dont shed at all..

our lab moults twice a year, she is busy doing her summer to winter shed at the mo, black hair everywhere and daily hoovering of the carpets!

Poodles and their crosses and some terriers don't shed, sounds wonderful!

I can only tell you about my dogs 2 Dobes, they hardly moult at all, I have a friends Lab bitch staying for 10days and I cannot believe how much hair is on my carpets. Today another friend dropped off her Lab boy for a day and a night and the volume has doubled.

Each breed is different and with a longer coated dog you are going to have more hair on your carpets, dogs like poodles etc dont moult but need clipping.

yeah i can imagine dobermans are super easy in that dept. lovely silky SHORT coats!
so i can look foward to a summer to winter shed too grey arab?

excellent.

Well my lab x springer and Rottie x are doing so at this moment, as are my horses, as are my guineapigs.....
Sounds bad but Will my Lab was the worse house so far isnt too bad getting away with hoovering every other day.

I love my Hoover, its the pet one, and cleans very well.
