grrrrr , any other tips on getting rid of unwanted hair on missy ?


Shes being brushed twice a day, rugged up ( rug has been taken off her in the heat during the day ) curry combs used , along with abit of plucking

Balmoral isnt that long now , 16th of may and her coat is nowhere near ready

Having the same problem currently- the more I groom, the worse it gets!

At least I get lots of quality 'bonding' time with my horse

I believe a warm bath is good gets rid of loads of unwanted hair.

you could try those grooming blocks or the shedding baldes. They work wonders. Either that or clip her like have done with Willow

Someone else that that the other day, a bath with rubber gloves or the black rubber combs and brush, brush, brush....I have been brushing my mare and it just keeps on coming out, she does'nt look any better though, still a fluff ball!!

Unfortunately she is still on box rest , so dont want to have to bath her until a week before.

Suppose sponge bath in the stable would do with rubber gloves ?

Shedding blade is brilliant

I have both plastic and metal but prefer the plastic one. Have been helping other people on the yard with it to help get rid of some unwanted hair and the blade is brilliant.
Having problems getting another plastic one though does anyone know where to get them from?
Have looked online and keep popping on ebay and having a look but it just seems to be the metal ones.
I got my plastic one in a job lot from ebay from someone. It was new but have no idea where they got it from.
If anyone can tell me that would be great as I have said to some friends I will have a look into getting one for them as they think they are great.
Would also recommend a bath though as well with rubber gloves or anything that will cause friction against the hair.
Bathing my moulting dogs and using something similar was great in getting rid of their coats and so I would assume that the same can be said of horsehair.
