i am after new jacket and have decided on mountain horse i think as i have thier gloves etc. I need one which is warm and waterproof as i get cold and living in norfolk we have cold winds and mum lives in wales so must be really wtareproof. I think i have narrowed it down to winnipeg or burlington (parka is nice but not at £295) an also open to other suggestions. I have a lightweight coat so this will be my winter thick coat.

does anyone have one of these and can tell me what it is like. also what is sizing like. I am normally an 8 tops whic i think is XS for thier sizing.

I LOVE my Winnipeg :) had it over a year and it still looks brand new! Although it does need reproofing now it's had a wash. It is so comfy, so many pockets and very stylish (I wore it go out in London last week :o - hey people are wearing hunter willies and muckers for fashion now!) Very warm although still lightweight to wear and can move well in it.

I am a size 6/8 (more 8 though) and my sister is a size 8/10 and we both fit the size Small - maybe a fraction too small on my sister. The medium was ordered for my sister as my mum thought she could wear it too then but it proved far too big! so I would say definitely size small :)

Hi I have the Winnipeg jacket and whilst lovely it is not waterproof for any more than showers. I returned the first one I had as I was assured by a mountain horse rep it was faulty but the second one also takes in water on the arms. I needed a coat for teaching in, also In sunny Norfolk, but after two hrs in steady rain I was soaked. The coat is great other than that, really warm and stylish and I have had lots of comments on it. To be fair to MH they have given me some vouchers for goodwill but I wouldn't ever get their products again. Considering how they say it is designed for heavy consistent rain they obviously weren't expecting this much!

I've had my MH coat for 5 years now and live in it for 6 months of the year!! I normally wash it 3x a year and I've never reproofed it - still completely watertight. :o
It was a limited edition one I'm not sure which model as I bought it from a stand at YHL one year. I will cry when it dies and would definately replace it with another MH product.
