Just doing some research before I part with some dosh!

Its time for some new boots and I really fancy the stirrup control system boots by Mountain Horse.

Is the stirrup control system just a gimmick or does it really have a positive effect?

I looked n to this, but went for the reflex swivel stirrups, which have a great grip and are very comfortable to ride in, "soft" but good grip.
I love Ariat Devon boots, but I wear them for work and they only last a year, before the leather cracks while the sole is still in good nick.

My friend had a pair and did really like them, but I don't like the fact that you're then stuck having to buy the same boot, what if they stop making them (hoping I'm thinking about the same product as I type this)

Most of us on the yard use sprenger bow balance stirrups, I bought them for the YO birthday present and she got more for her other saddles, I couldn't believe the difference they made. She got kicked a few years ago just before regionals so I rode the 3 horses for her whilst her leg recovered, I rode them for about 4 weeks and when i went back to riding my own horse couldn't understand why the balls of my feet, ankles and knees were achey when I finished riding, took a few days to figure out it was because I wasn't riding in the bow balance stirrups.

Boot wise I like Ariat H2O terrain.

The Mountain Horse Stirrup Control system is really good. I like that you can wear your boots in normal stirrups, or in the special treads :)
