hoping to get some nice new shiney boots for going to shows in - was thinking of the SCS3 Mountain Horse boots with the special treads to help keep your stirrup stable but not sure if i wanna shell out for them, or go for Ariats (which i have been wanting for forever)

Anyone got the SCS3's and treads? they any good or not worth the money....?

Thanks!

Do you want the long boots? I really fancied some but a friend bought some and they crippled her with a pressure point on the heel. I didn't think they were very nicely made for £180. I haven't seen the Ariat ones but the pics look really nice

I have some short brown ones for everyday, they're really comfy and the treds did give me extra security but I don't think they're as nice for competition as ariats, plus the matching gaitors were lovely but didn't last long as they're part synthetic and the material started coming away - bear in mind I was wearing them everyday, I got some ariat gaitors and they look brand new. Check out ebay I wouldn't pay over the odds, the long boots look a bit bulky and the laces a bit stringy but thats only my opinion!

I recently got them so am still getting used to them but I find the boots very comfy (short ones) and the treds do help to keep my feet in the right position and they do feel more secure.

I have the short boots and treads but not the stirrups and really like them. Very comfortable and nice secure heel position. I used to have the stirrup at an angle across the bottom of my foot and the treads also help to keep the stirrup at the right angle as well as keeping my heel down.

Hi,
Just to say I have had short boots and treads (can't stretch to the price of the stirrups too) and have got on with them really well. They keep my foot in the correct position I used to find that I would either lose a stirrup or my foot start to slip through especially when schooling. Prob due to my naff position, but the boots and treads have really helped. I also feel that I have a more heels down position. I could live in the boots from day one and they didn't need breaking in, so wear them all the time, although don't know how long the treads will last walking around or if they are replacable in the future.
Hope that's of some help!!

Comfiest boots I have ever worn! I have the long ones & they are great & (according to physio friend) the are very well shaped to support the foot unlike many riding boots.

I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

yay... this is just sounding better and better. Might see if budget will stretch to the long boots, they will be better for showing etc, right?

I have had high riders for years and love them, if they are as comfy as them then i will be exstatic...

Only worn High Riders once (they were my friends, so shaped to her feet) but even then, I didn't find them terribly comfortable.
