Does anybody watch the Mounted Branch on Animal Planet?

I love the big grey they have on the trailers. I almost want to apply.

totally love that programme! It's fascinating. They look like such powerful, enormous beasts....but it surprised me that they do sometimes spook...as did the fact that the trainers are a little concerned by horses that are totally unfazed by traffic because they worry they have less self-preservation and may spook outwards into the path of traffic.
 
I do its local to me and my friend is a groom but so far has not been included in the programe but was filmed so I watch it every week both to see if she is in it and very interested they do open days as well were you can visit the stables etc.
 
Last week there was an episode at the retired police horses' stables. 2 horses went there, a black and a bay. It was great to see that they have such a fantastic place to go to.
 
I think they re-home them. An ex-boyfriend is a mounted police officer so will have to ask him. I know his parents have a lovely calm ex-police ID at their farm now.

Yes they do where are u based which is your nearest branch ?
The grey in my siggie is looking for a retirement home where he can be used for hacking he is a little super star

How come the grey is retired?

My horse is retired too due to arthritis and I hope to still have him for many many many many years.
 
He is a police horse and looking for a retirement home because he has done a long 15 yrs service and deserves a nice break now he is a fantastic horse such a character.
Your too far away though, contact your local branch too see if there retiring any.
