In preparation for eventually getting back on I decided to dig my riding hat out, I really should have put it away properly as it appears to have housed several mice over the last few months :)

I have had mice wee in it before and it left me with an itchy scalp but this time it has been left too long and it is very stinky. Suggestions please or MUST I go and buy a new one (how awful that would be).... :)

Any ideas?

New one - any excuse!

Agreed. To stop husbo rolling his eyes, (to be fair he could roll his eyes until the cows come home and I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice), I will show him that link. He is a germaphobe and the hat will be in the bin before you can say 'deathbymices'! :D

I'd go for a whole new tack-drobe since your tack room is clearly infested with the evil-mice ;)

Please get a new one, but leave the old one on the floor at the back of the barn with some straw in so the little mice or any other hibernating baby producing sweetie can reuse it.

Are you me? Just the sort of ridiculous thing I would do :p

The other, more sensible, ladies at the farm are planning mouse traps :(

Don't worry! I have a plan. When I am three stone down the prize is a new dressage saddle .... Which will need new cloths, and leathers, and girth, and will probably be in brown .... So I will need a new bridle to match :p

All in good time.

I like your style. I'm looking for a jump saddle for Fergs at the moment. I'm eyeing up brown ones as I want a nice excuse to buy him a new matching brown bridle and all that jazz... Not that I have the cash lying around, but I can't very well ride him in mismatched tack, now can I? :D (Plus he looked gorgeous in dafthoss's brown event saddle :p )

Nothing as satisfying as horsey shopping :D
