Gobsmacked I am!
This afternoon at the yard i popped my little rescue Shih into the hay store when a sudden hail storm came in.
A minute later she was poking around some filled nets and then dived! Came up smartly shaking her head with a young mouse in her mouth! Had killed it outright.

DH has laughed at 'The handbag dog' but she has got stuck in properly now :biggrin3:

V impressed, whats your most unusual mouser?

Rottie - he got it by bouncing on it with his front paws

He was very proud - carried it around all afternoon and kept trying to give it to people :)

My first standard poodle girl caught and killed a rat with one head shaking neck snap..I was very surprised ! sHe was the highest prey drive dog I've ever had and also had a thing for cats...but we never let her get close to one.She did one day jump my four foot hedge in one bound, race after our neighbors cat and chased her into their house. We raced after them to find a shrieking Italian housewife and my dog leaping for her cat high up on the kitchen cupboard. The cat escaped but my neighbor was not best pleased.

We lived in town, and the office building next to us was being converted in to luxury flats. WHile the construction was going on there was a lot of jackhammering which drove mice in to our flat. My min pins were great at keeping htem at bay - even my old toothless and blind girl. However, my border terrier - not so much lol

I'm not sure if my Parsons is a good mouser or whether the cats are generous with their spoils and he just brings in their discards :-)

my golden retriever just killed a huge spider and brought it to me, does that count? he also in winter regularly kills crane flys for me - i point and go 'buddy, go eat it' and he just bats them/ mouths them then drops them dead on the floor.

...he's a weird one...

I spotted a rat in the back garden, sent the jack and the springers out, thinking the jack would do what he was supposed to! He point blank refused to have anything to do with it and my lovely springer boy killed it with one shake, proudly delivered it to me and wandered off with a casual wag of his tail :)

Cavalier King Charles!

Had an old canvas turnout rug left in a shed which unbeknown to me became the breeding ground of mice in the serge lining.

Cav was overjoyed when I decided to clean out shed and after watching a couple run out of the rug's lining, found his inner terrier and killedd thee or four
