Norman, a semi-retired 23yo cushings suffer has had these appear in this mouth (first spotted on Thursday). Any idea what they are or what causes them? The vet will be called, but just wondered if anyone knew what they were. He also has one on each side of the underneath of tongue almost directly above where these are.
Whoops images are bit big and not great quality, but it was difficult to get him to stand still whilst hanging on this lips and taking a photo!

Mine had blisters caused by a virus in his mouth, and the other has warts and neither look like that. Sorry, not much help.

Hope he feels better soon.

My horse used to get something like this on his lips and someone said it was from the buttercups. I'm not sure they are the same things though. I also used to put Bonjela on.

mine had something like this... use stuff for mouth ulcers that you can get from pharmacists. it looks nasty but they usually go within a week and don't seem to both them.

Good luck getting stuff onto there though!!!

Mouth ulcers are one of the symptons of cushings. My old pony used to get them but since he got his correct dose of pergolide they have not come back.

I would definitely let the vet have a look but you could also try using a bit of Flower of Sulphur in his drinking water and feed. It is naturally antifungal and antiseptic and it has cleared up my mares thrush in her feet and her mudfever type thing. I also use it on the dogs to keep the fleas away...brill stuff!!
