My 4 year old youngster is in an French link full cheek snaffle but before I brought him he was in a neue Schule full cheek but them bits are around £100.. Well when I went I try him he was very quite in the mouth and didn't jerk his head like he's doing now with the French link. I had the saddle fitter out recently for him and she said he's trying to get his tounge over the bit and he's just playing with it. He's only fitted in a normal cavesson noseband but he does avoid the contact and opens his mouth when asking him to stand with like pressure and before he was very relaxed etc. Not sure really what to do.. Have the dentist coming out at the start of May though..

He may be happier in a bit with a lozenge like a NS bit, Eldonian make one called a balance snaffle it is very similar to the NS snaffle bit but a only £25, I use it on both of my horses and they both really like it and they can be sensitive in the mouth, considering his only 4 he could be having teething changes which could be making him uncomfortable so visit from a vet or dentist would be a good idea just to rule out something making him sore.
