Has anyone had problems with the council for putting moveable stables on their field for horses. Some of the adverts for stable say 'No planning required'. is this so.
What problems if any have you encountered....

if you are in an AONB or a national park there have been issues

no planning permission is otherwise normally require - however you must be prepared to move the structure every 28 days; have no connection to mains services; have no hardstanding for it;

most important - you move the structure every 28 days and NOT RETURN IT to the same location until 12 months have passed

That is actually the 'law' on these things. Most councils have ignored enforcing the 'move every 28 days' bit (not 'cos they accept the things but because they haven't got the money to fight an enforcement case - and nor the staff probably)

However, if you get a council that doesn't want these things they can and will enforce - tbh - if you can go for a field shelter and go thru the planning permission then you are better off as you've added value to your property and can have a concrete base, leccy, water, etc. - and the permie shelters are half the price of the mobile ones.

If you don't own the land you could argue that your animals need shelter and that as you only rent the land you cannot invest in a permanent structure and the land owner won't either - this would only work if your horses live out all the time - if the field is only 'turnout' then this argument won't wash as you don't HAVE to have your horses out in bad weather if you have stables.
