Absolutely knackered!
It took 3 loads to move everything; it’s funny how much stuff you collect over the years! I got jumped don by a mouse and screamed the place down in a fit. Was not nice! The rubber mats were the worst, absolutely vile so powered hosed them then moved all into the new stable. They fitted perfectly in the new stable so we were obviously meant to move there.

Got Andy there about 5ish and he was a bit tense as always at competitions so thought a nice quiet ride would chill him out a bit. He didn’t go bad but had eyes on stalks the whole way round and was doing a brilliant giraffe impression.

Then we thought we’d show him the reservoir to see what he thought of it! He had a bit of a melt down so any ideas on how to get him over this would be brilliant. It’s basically a 500m causeway between the two lakes.

His neighbour is so lovely, very friendly so they are getting turned out together tomorrow and once they settle he’ll get turned out with the rest of them. Anyway enough of my rambling here are some pictures:

In the school we did get some 'okay' moments but nothing brilliant:

And up by the reservoir:

Glad the move went okay!! Can imagine the stench of the mats....yak yak yak.

Looking pretty chilled out in those pics to me, love his teeny tiny spider legs...Such a handsome lad. :)

Personally would not lead in hand but that is just because I don't like being dragged and trampled - try pairing up with something very quiet that won't get spooked by Andy playing up and is very used to the sights and sounds there.

Good luck.

Glad your move went well and relatively stress free haha. I sympathize about the mats, had to do similar a few months back as at new yard we bought mats off a woman who no longer had her horse anymore and to say the mats were rank was an understatement. Took me and my dad a whole afternoon but got there in the end.
As for the reservoir as others have said try go with his new friend if you can as it might give him a bit of confidence just to start off with.
Glad he's settling well, he's very cute, I love how small he is and his little legs :)

He looks very settled already!

Give him a couple of days to relax before trying the resevoir if he is worried and then see if someone else from the yard can come with you with a horse that's used to it. It shouldn't be a problem and I'm sure he will get used to it in no time.

Thanks everyone, he was turned out today and did a bit of showing off but then settled and is nice a and chilled out. Its very nice where we are :)

wilkinson where abouts are you? We used to keep our horses there years ago but moved closer to home when I got old enough to go up on my own.

Lovely photos, the view from the Reservoir looks stunning! :) I'm glad the move went well. (Didn't know you were moving as I haven't had Internet for a couple of weeks so I've missed a lot on here!) :p

Is that Dowdswell Resevoir(sp!)? Which yard are you at as I looked at one near there but didn't realise there was any hacking.

Hi koko, I rent privately nearby (top of the hill). Used to livery at badge worth a few years back and also in shurdington. X

So is this your 3rd home with Andy then? It looks wonderful – I hope he continues to settle well and that you’re very happy there 80) You must be spoiled for facilities in the area, as your last yard looked good too!
