Hi!
I’m currently debating whether or not I should move my 17 year old horse from Finland to Scotland where I’m studying. My family is currently taking care of him but I obviously miss him and last time I visited I had to spend ages working on behavioral problems that he developed while I was gone. He loves his home and is very close friends with another horse and I would hate to take him away from that. I don’t want to cause him any distress but if I brought him over he would be able to get more exercise and a better stable (with an indoor arena and a beach nearby). He is also quite attached to me and I feel bad being away from him for longer periods of time. He is generally really healthy (we had some joint issues in autumn but he’s alright now) but I just want what’s best for him and him to be happy. Ofcourse once I finish my degree we’d move back to Finland so I’d have to transport him back again at 21. Please give me your opinions as I’m really not sure what to do.
