What are all your handy little extras to make things quicker and easier? Think I've got all my day to day things but there are bound to be things I've forgotten. So all time saving, money saving and general making things easier ideas appreciated!

if you can, fill up enough haynets to last the week at the weekend when you have more time.

Get into a routine... If my horse is in, when I arrive, I tie her outside with a haynet whilst I muck out and change water - then I gather empty haynets and take them with me to the muckheap, tip the muck and then continue on to the barn to fill nets - they can go in the barrow then to transport back to my stable.

If you can (i.e you are going onto a yard, not your own place), team up with other liveries to help each other out. one does the morning, one does the night duties etc

I put mine on semi deep litter. Saved time and money. I did buddy up with someone (eventually) so we would have each other's backs in an emergency. In fact we ended up sharing daily duties as well. I had a freezer for 2 weeks worth of feed. Friend has moved onto DIY and one thing she does is have 1 set of rugs - no specific stable rugs. Saves time changing in the morning.

I find putting shavings down under a straw bed and mucking out every few days a massive time saver. I take out the poo and any obvious wet bits most days and then twice a week the whole lot comes up, usually on a Wednesday and Sunday. Full muck out takes 15-20 mins and every other day about 5-10.

Make feeds up in the evening so they're ready for the morning.

Anything time consuming is left till the weekend.

You'll soon settle into a routine :)

I agree with all of the above - I used to have my horses on full livery and then moved to DIY - best thing I ever did. I semi deep litter in the week and take the wet out at weekend when I have more time. Fill water buckets the night before and haynets. I only use turnout rugs, never stable rugs, so they are ready to go out in the morning. Totally agree with Identityincrisis in not going anywhere empty handed. If I go into the stable, I make sure I am taking something in and if I'm coming out of the stable I make sure I'm bringing something out as well!

Does anyone know where you can get bundles of haynets as they're quite expensive for how many you need to make up a weeks worth in one go

Shires Haynets. Or look on equestrian clearance. If not you can make your weekend ones up whenever, then Sunday evening prep what you need till Wednesday, and then Wednesday evening stuff a load more. It doesn't take long at all.
