Has anyone moved their horses from home/rented yard to have them at DIY or assisted DIY livery? I'm writing an article for Horse magazine about keeping horses at home, and just wondering if anyone has struggled with keeping them at home, got fed up of not having facilities or help or decided that a livery yard set up is a better option for the horse?
Would like to quote replies in the article - pm me if you'd rather.

I kept my previous two at home for 32 years and did it the hard way, everything myself before and after school and subsequently full time job. When I lost those I bought my current horse as a 3yo so she went straight to livery as I knew I didn’t have the experience or facilities. Been on part livery (5 days) and I’ve loved it up until now but yard politics and silly new rules are clouding my enjoyment so we could be homeward bound in the near future providing we can pick up sh(!)tland as a companion on the way. Happy to answer any specific questions if you have any.

Have had mine at home for the last 3 years, and am moving to livery in a couple of months. We have absolutely no facilities, pretty rubbish hacking, and I simply can't make the sort of progress with my horse as I'd like to.
I think what makes it even worse is the fact that I'm all on my own, so don't even have anyone to hack out with.

Very much looking forward to moving somewhere with people, a school and actual stables  :p
