Silly question - how quickly will wrapped bales of hay and haylage go off if the wrapping is punctured during transport?

I'm assuming quite quickly as moisture and air will get in?

TIA

If you do it soon after wrapping and seal them back up with proper silage tape it will be fine. If they get punctured later on you just have to seal asap and hope

Moisture not a problem Air Is
The best technique is a little time consuming however if you peel back a few layers of wrap around the hole put on a silage tape patch push the layers back and add another patch. Use a minimum 4in wide roll of Tape do not buy the patches as they are useless for the job only use the correct tape as others just dont do the job. Do not be tempted to use duct tape as its porous.
