Hello, I am starting an internship in Tangmere in September which is involving me moving to the Chichester area so I was hoping that any local members would be able to help me out with a little bit of experience/advice. I currently know very little so please tell me everything you know about riding in the area!
Ideally I would love to find a pony/horse allrounder for share 2/3 days per week as I have really missed riding whilst at University. I am a competent rider and would love to develop my riding but would also be happy to ride a happy hacker, exercise a hunter and school a cheeky pony or just generally help out. I would be happy to do associated jobs but could only offer a limited contribution. Does this sound feasible to find a share within a 20-30 min drive of the area?
Otherwise, does anyone have any feedback of the local riding schools? Lavant house looks nice but it seems quite expensive. Is this typical for the area? Are they worth the money or would you suggest that I could find better value elsewhere? I would be looking to restart flatwork lessons for basic dressage (before University I was working on; working in a true outline, shoulder in, shortening, lengthening and direct transitions etc to a recognisable standard) and, if they have an honest school master, I would love to begin jumping properly again. My target is only to jump a 3ft course with a good rhythm whilst not wanting to cry in fear. I can jump I just have trust issues above 23-26.
Again I would be looking at places to ride within a 20-30 min max radius of the area.
Thanks in advance for any replies. They will be a massive help!
