I'm moving to Germany because of my hubby's job in January and am after any advice about riding there. I started riding when i was very small, took a break when i was a poor student, then started sharing 2 years ago. I've been hacking and schooling mainly but done a bit of jumping, xc and hunting. I'm looking for something similar out there, anyone got any contacts?
It's near Nuremburg in the south of germany btw.

Thanks and cookies!

Hi,... just about to go off to bed... PM me and I will help as much as i can...I am near Cologne, so miles for where you will be, but can give you some info about how stuff works here

Where will you be based exactly? I am quite familiar with Bamberg, which is just north of Nuremberg -- I bought Frodo there and am still in contact with the breeders, I can give you their contact details if you want -- they do have a small riding school and the hacking will be gorgeous, but no hunting definitely. But it depends where you are.

Bavaria is stunning, all of it, but Franconia (the part of Bavaria where you'll be) is particularly gorgeous. Bamberg, Nurenberg are all incredibily beautiful cities

You lucky lucky thing!

Horse-wise there is a fab show called Consumenta, it's an indoor fair with top dressage and jumping held every year at the Messe in Nurenberg around end of Oct / start of Nov.

Also, this website might be useful

(It's the Franconia branch of the Bavarian horse association & regional branch of the FN)

Do PM for info
