I've not been on H&H forum for AGES in fact, since doing the unthinkable and letting my beloved Dougal go to a new home. I sold him to Emma who was my sharer and loved him to pieces. Despite my slight worry that he could be a little too much horse for her, I thought that since she would never push him to his limits (which was when he was likely to have an argument) they would be great for life. Wasn't to be... Dougal apparently decided his new mum was a bit of a soft touch early on and took full advantage. The result, Emma lost her confidence in him and had to sell him on. To be fair to Emma, she called me to give me the opportunity to have Dougal back (which I would have loved) but my reasons (work)for selling him remained and so I had to turn down the offer to have him back (I remain gutted and miss him like mad). New mum, pls contact me should you need any info whatsoever.
As far as I know, Dougal is now in a new home with a mum who has evented in her past but wanted a horse to x country and dressage. For Dougal, the perfect life..
Anyway back to the whole point of my post (apologies for being so long winded) my hubby and I are moving to Jaipur in India for two years! I've been in touch with Tara at Silver Spurs and am looking forward to meeting her and Sandeep but wondered if anyone on the forum has any experience of Silver Spurs or riding in the Jaipur area?
Big ask, I know but hey, i'm out there for two years so it's worth a try.
Thanks all. Nat. xxxx

Sorry to ask but was he kept at a yard in Warwickshire? Just that I knew a horse called dougal that was ridden by a girl called emma

Good luck on your new live for two years in India. Hope you manage to let us know how your doing. Fingers crossed Dougal is having a great new lease of life.

Not as far as I know. I only sold him 17hh dapple grey IDxTB (fyi) a year ago and was always kept in Kent. I bought him from Cobham Manor (Detling) as a four year old. He's approx 9 now. I'd LOVE to know how he is doing (in fact will post separately to see if I can find him). xx

Well I'll def get on here a bit more often. Since having to sell Dougal (first horse I have EVER had to sell) i've kept away since i've found it too painful BUT am going to ride in India. Just miss horses too much.

Be nice to be back on here again. Missed all the chats and gossip. Thank you for your reply. xx

Not the same one, the dougal I knew was bright bay.

All the best in India though

Oh my god!!!! YES. That is me on him on a sponsored ride in Kent. Do you know him? know where he is???? I miss him so, so much. Cracking horse, massive personality. xxx

No sorry I honestly don't....I just got bored an did a search on google for him and that came up :) x

Sorry, was that your own advert then from when you sold him? Does your old sharer still have the contacts to who she sold him to at all that you could get? x

Perhaps you could try the number and see if they remember who he was sold to?

Good luck in India, sounds like quite an adventure.

No, I didn't advertise him. I offered him to Emma first off. She had asked over and over if I would sell him and if I did, would I consider her. Well, since she was so in love with him and spoiled him rotten, she was my first choice to be honest. Ok, she may never realise his full potential but as far as I was concerned this was a love match for life and therefore perfect. Not sure what happened but guessing Dougal (who is a strong character) pushed and she gave way, result. Naughty horse and a jolly big one at that and I think she lost her nerve. Very sad for both Dougal and Emma.

Oh I see :( Was that her advert for him then? If not, if it's not your advert and not hers...then could always ring that number on the ad? x
