Hello!

So, hubby and I are taking the plunge and moving out of London to Norfolk, horse and dog in toe of course.
We don't really know Norfolk too well so I need your insider knowledge!

If anyone can give me the heads up on the best places/ people for the below it would be much appreciated :)

Tack shops
Hacks - I hear Thetford forest is nice, are there beaches you can ride on?
Farrier
Fencing/ gates supplier
Bedding/ hay supplier

Also as I said we don't really know much about the area so if you have any info that might help us settle in, ie nice places to eat, good local pub etc

For anyone that can help I am offering some of our home brewed cider... from our first apple crop (might have to wait a few months though) :)

Can't help on farrier, hacks or a fencing supplier as not THAT local ;) but for your haylage/bedding I can recommend Lincs Forage. I think Bearts shouldn't be terribly far from you and they are big agri/feed merchant too.

Welcome to Norfolk - we are near Dereham which is mid norfolk so our suppliers wouldnt be close to you, but there are loads of horses round Wisbech way. Ely eventing centre is close. Holkham is very good for rinding as is thetford Forrest.

Only downside with Wisbech is lack of hills for fittening work!

Brill, thanks guys!...
Also forgot to add anyone close by if you need a hacking buddy I'd be interested, as cannot for love nor money get the other half on a horse to come on rides with me!

Nimax feed store is in Wisbech - get all my dog, cat, horse feed / wormers etc from them. (slightly biased as I've known the owner for 30 years :D)

Farrier - I use Brendan Murray, super person & very reliable

Beech rides - always been too cowardly to try myself but hear that Holkham is good - about 40 mins from Wisbech.

Cannot for the life of me think what the couple of nice pubs are but will ask hubby tonight and try to remember to PM you :) Same for fencing / gate people.

Ahh that's great thanks GFP...

Don't think I will be attempting beach rides for a while yet either, slightly bonkers youngster would probably find it far too exciting, but good to know, will have to give it a go at some point as it's just the best thing having a little splash about in the water!

Would be great if you could let me know about the pubs, I am partial to the odd gin from time to time :D
