Moving my two to a new yard in a couple of weeks. They will have each other, and are very close but does anyone have any hints or tips to make it a little easier for them.

Is there a best time of day - do you feed them on arival - keep routine identical ?

No prior experience that I can remember of this.

Thanks :D

Get organised before moving, have the new place ready for them to move into.
Keep very calm and matter of fact on the day, give yourself all the time you need and keep their routine as close to their usual one as possible, though obviously, you'll need to keep a closer eye on them for a day or so.
Make sure other liveries know your contact details in case of a problem when the YO isn't around.
If you have stables, hang their used rugs over the door and even bring a bit of old bedding to mix with the new to make it smell familiar. Mine are always happier once they know they have a 'safe' place.
With ridden horses, I generally hack out with a future field mate(s) while they are on isolation so they already know some of the herd, though you can't do that with your youngster.

Move earlier in the day, so its light and you can check them before nightfall.

I've always moved majority of my stuff a few days before moving the horses i.e. rugs that I don't need, buckets etc.. Also make sure their stable is ready for their arrival.

So when the day I move the horses, I only have them to worry about.

I prefer to move in the morning as then I can spend the whole afternoon just pottering around getting the horses settled, getting to know the yard and people a bit and just generally getting used to everything new.

I normally chuck horse out in am, move my stuff and get it sorted in new yard then move horse around normal bringing in time, put to bed and chuck out the next day.

Last time I hacked to new yard but if I hadn't done that I would have ridden in the am too.

I also try and bring some bedding from their old house.

Agree with above comments make sure everything is ready at new yard move rugs buckets bits n bobs beforehand if you can and only deal with the actual move on the day.
I sometimes went back to finish beds at old yard but sometimes this isn't always possible so make sure beds are up leave horses in field til your ready to get them ready.
Keep calm
Best of luck with it though sure you'll be fine
