Moving yards… best way to settle her

Hi there
I am moving to a new yard next week. My mare, who is 15 has been at her current yard for a year and is out at night and in during the day. She gets ridden most days and we compete every other weekend.
She is very settled but I have to move her. Staying isn’t an option.
What is the best way to settle her into her new home? She will be going to a livery yard that does grazing during the day rather than at night.

I'd say that apart from the change in stabling arrangements (ie. being in during night rather than the day), try and keep her to her current routine with feeding and riding as far as possible. Good luck with the move, I'm sure it will go well.

I’ve said this on similar threads before, unless you’ve got a particularly quirky one don’t overthink it, just move and crack on. Turn out as soon as they’ll allow, ride on day one/two. And re change to in at night, if the others on the yard are in the same turnout routine she’ll soon realise what the score is.

Good luck with the move and enjoying your new yard.
