Hi all. We will be moving our boys end of this month to another yard. They moving from heavy more clay soil to dry sandy pasture. Is it going to affect them somehow, or they dont care as far as they have a grass? Must say,its a LOT of grass there, what i need to look out for? We already asked to put some fencing across and divide field in two parts so they dont get to crazy from so much grass. What else i need to do? Do i need to cut their feeds down? Leave it as it is? Thanks.

i think it will be just a case of keeping an eye on their weight/condition daily/weekly and then act accordingly.i dont think the soil would make much difference tbh.when i moved mine last year it went from sandy to clay soil and there wasnt much difference apart from the new amount of grass!!but i didnt have to worry too much as she was a growing yearling then.mine is also about to be moved onto a new feild at yard with much more new grass.its such a worry all the time isnt it lol

If there is plenty of grass & new grass is coming through you may need to limit their acdces to it by either fencing it, shorter gturnout time or grazing muzzle. Apart from the obvious risk of increase weight there could be a real risk of laminitis. Be very careful.
