Very excited . . . tomorrow we move KaliBear to a new yard . . . a small private yard a short distance from our house. We have really enjoyed our time at our current yard (and it is a lovely yard with great facilities), but it's time to move on . . . and I'm hoping this is the perfect place for us :). The hacking isn't quite as good, and the yard is much quieter, but the facilities are a little better and it's closer to home. We will, however, be just cracking on . . . no time to adjust, just stick to his weekly routine and get on with things - and I hope he will adapt and that we aren't being unfair to him.

Z will jump round our cross country jumps and then hack him in the forest before we put him on the lorry to move him . . . she will jump him in the (new) school on Tuesday, he will have Wednesday off (which is usual) but I will put him on the horse walker while I muck out . . . Thursday Z will school him, Friday I will ride him in the school (or lunge him - I'll see how he is) and then Saturday we are off to Snowball bright and early for the Hunter Trial.

I so hope we are making the right move . . . but my gut tells me we are. Because the YO's daughter competes BSJA year round, the facilities are set up for keeping getting horses clean with little disruption/discomfort for them (dedicated indoor wash down/clip/solarium), which will be fab having a grey :). The yard is compact so he will be able to see his field mates wherever they all are (in/out, etc.). and there are always people about to keep an eye out. The school is large and well-maintained and the jumps are in the corner and BSJA standard so light and easy to put up/take down.

There is the chance that he won't settle . . . but we won't know until we try :).

Wish us luck!

Really hope it works out for you :)

Now - WHEN are we going on that hack? :p

Ha ha . . . let's get him settled and then LETS DO IT! It's been too long in the pipeline. I just need to learn all the new hacking routes and make sure he isn't an idiot when doing them ;).

Sounds like your girlie is doing fab - all happiness :).

Just wandered as it saves competition horses getting injured, my boss has hers on individual turn out,

Oh my goodness . . . I wouldn't call him a competition horse - that makes him sound so posh ;). However, YO's daughter's two certainly are so, yes, individual turnout. My dream scenario is that she lets me turn him out with the two pet shetlands . . . but as they are in a starvation paddock that's highly unlikely ;).

Cheers :) She is indeed being a poppet :)

If transport isn't a prob, once you have him settled, then you are more than welcome to pop over to me for a pootle out. Prob about an hours bimbling around on lovely sandy tracks & pinewoods without having to resport to crossing roads or using bridleways.

Let me know - once you all have your feet under the table:)
