I have a cob with very thick hairy legs , the hair is more like bristle, very coarse. I clip them off to treat for mites. The liveryman clippers I have are quite heavy and old and difficult to get round the contours of his legs especially pasterns. Any recommendations for a more manoeverable clipper that would cope with the dense hair greatly appreciated. Anyone else with any advice please feel free! I use Moser 45 clippers with a no. 10 blade on my cobs wirey feathers. The have the same motor as Moser Avalon horse clippers, get in around the pasterns really well

I have recently seen the new Heinegar Xperience clipper, which may be the solution to your problem. The machine is 200 Watt, yet of an ergonomic shape, which makes it easier to handle and more nimble. Heinegar benefits from having a good blade selection and blades made from quality Swiss Steel, rather than recycled Chinese Tanks. You get the benefit of quality and quiet power. Worth a look, especially if you get the fine and coarse blades, the coarser blades will be better on the feathers.
