We have had Squirrel at ours now for a few weeks, and decided to take him for a little test run today to see how he coped in the ring. Just unaffiliated prelim and novice as was all that was on.
He was as calm as a cucumber in the warm up, which was a surprise, so we had far too much time on our hands, but he was very good. Till we went to take his boots off just before we went in....then he panicked and got his knickers in a twist. First test was therefore very tense and not really very flowing!
Warmed him up for a decent while before the Novice (without boots), and he was good, calmed down again nicely, went in and did a lovely test, managing to avoid doing any changes which is always good when doing Novice....!
Didnt wait to see where we came but he was in the lead with 72% when we left so we were thrilled with him
So no excuses now, onto bigger and brighter things, first affiliated outing in a few weeks at Novice, aim is to try and qualify for the regionals at Novice and Elementary.
