OK i want the boy MRI scanned before the vet comes to give a joint injection so i believe that Liphook or O Gormans are the nearest standing MRI places. I realise the cost is around £1000

Has anyone used either of these places? any tips or things i need to know? PM if you prefer.

Both are good vets, I'd phone them both up find out exact prices (including stabling if required) and then go for the cheapest/nearest!

Back O'Gormans 100%. Had alot of experience with them when i worked down there. very good vets and one of the first to have an MRI scanner. WOuldnt hesitate to take mine there

Over the years i've had 3 horses go to Liphook and would recommend them 100%. One of mine did have an mri scan two years ago I think it was but I can't remember exactly how much it cost.

They were very well looked after and all the staff were really nice and supportive.

I've had two MRI's. One many years ago at Newmarket in the days of G.I. and one six months ago at Liphook. Liphook were fantastic and very helpful but probably whichever is nearer or most economical is best. Good luck.

My horse came back from MRI at O'Gormans last week and I have to say I wasnt very happy with the service. The actual proceedure seems to have been carried out well and the vet appears excellent. However the service at the stables and after was terrible. They didnt have my horse booked in, despite my vets having rung and confirmed etc. The yard manager then had an arguement infront of me about whether he was booked in and was really rude to me.

This being when I was distressed enough as it was. He then wrote my name and address on a scrap of paper and just didnt give me any faith that my horse was going to be looked after (I nearly put him back on the trailer and brought him home). As I said the mri was done and the vet was ok in updating me. However it took me a week to get the report from them sent to my vets so we could discuss management issues. I rang twice every day and for four days was told it was waiting for the vet to sign. I wouldnt use them again.

Can I say that I would ditto that for my experience of them, to the last letter? Or would it be defamatory? Who cares, that sounds exactly like my experience of them! Vets were very good, other than that...

Hi, I hope you don't mind me contacting you but I am the Practice Manager at O'Gormans. I understand that some clients have not had the very best from us with regards to customer service and I am trying to find out what went wrong so I can fix it. You can find an email address on our website of you have any feedback which you might want to bring to my attention. Best regards. Mike
