Our lovely grey, green egg laying girl went missing last night. we searched everywhere for her. She had been showing signs of being broody and hoped she had hidden herself away somewhere.

It was not to be. At first light, on looking for her again found lots of feathers just outside our garden in the paddock. Obviously taken by a fox. Only the second hen to be taken in 9 years.

So sad at her ending. We have quite a few banties which live near the house (our big girls live at the top of the garden) and we spend far too much time just watching them.
