She's gone into be spayed today and I'm sat at work trying not to fret and wonder how long I can leave it before I can ring for a check up without coming across as a paranoid mother!

We managed to get her weight up to 11.7kg in a month, by increasing the amount she was given and the frequency, so nearly a kilo more than last month when they turned her away.

We've had her now 6 months and I love my annoying brown fluffball. We've had loads of adventures!

She LOVES helping to muck out!

She's met Geronimo the Tortoise

She had an unplanned trip to the vet chasing an out of control tennis ball into bushes and getting a seed in her eye which needed sedation to remove :( :(

Poor little thing was still a bit woozy but insisted on trying to come to the yard with me. She got as far as the hallway before deciding it was too much effort!

she's learnt how to help herself to carrots.

and to do some tricks! View My Video not bad for a dog that had no recall and no manners, jumped up on furniture and begged incessantly for treats and people food. she still has a long way to go, but she's such a huge part of my life now!

*waits impatiently for 5pm when I can go and collect her*
If anyone can reassure me/give tips that I can keep the hyper little monkey still for two weeks I'd be very grateful! She's going to be devastated at no trips to the woods or up to the yard.

She will be fine and the time will pass super quickly. Keep her interested by hiding treats in her bed/the house. Use the time to train her to do some tricks if you like that sort of thing.

I know that anxious waiting feeling, I turned up early for one dog, wish I hadn't, coming round from anaesthetic was not something I want to see again, the thrashing and whining wasn't nice.

All the best for a fast recovery, she's a lovely girl.Im like you, normally very calm but in knots when they go in for an op..very worrying and then afterwards you laugh and say you KNEW it would be ok..
my little one is eight m now and soon will go for her spay too..she's had a first season a month ago and were waiting for the three month period to go ahead. Please post how your girl did so I can say too,"see it's fine..."and not worry too much.

Hope that works as on phone! She got picked up at 4. She went for a little walk with them but refused to eat - they offered her kibble and she's raw fed. She is walking around gingerly and came from her basket to sit on my lap where she is asleep now having told me all about her bad day.
She's a bit trembly but she'll be ok :-) she's unhappy at her collar but minute she came round enough she was trying to lick at her stitches.
I'll give her a little chicken mince meal later and hopefully she'll have a little nibble of that.
Will keep you updated as to how ahe feels as it goes on. The OH has taken two weeks off to keep her company so when she forgives him for taking her to the vet she'll be happy to see him

If the collar bothers her, get a big baby grow for her. It might be less intrusive. My lot were wobbly for a few days after their neutering.

I saw someone who had done that and put an inflatable swimming ring around their dog. I'll see how she gets on, she may adjust to it once she has had some time to recover. Back on Thursday for a check up so we'll consider options then and maybe pop next door to asda for one if she's still unhappy.

It's the constant bashing into furniture/legs that's the killer! I had three with them on at one point, spaniels like to run through things rather than round. The inflatable rings are available in Pets at Home.

Oooh good to know. Yeah she struggles with spatial awareness at best of times lwt alone suddenly being a lot wider.
Just had a little dinner and a wee in garden so she feels a lot better now. Back to trying to convince her we walk sedately on a lead rather than trotting everywhere as we tried to work out where next doors cat had been!
