After my panicking posts yesterday about his complete refusal to eat anything... he had a scoop of build-up mix and chaff at breakfast time in his manger and he absolutely scoffed it down and cleaned every last bit up.

Just had saddler out and gave him another scoop, when we'd finished, to eat in the field and he was delighted to have it. Hopefully he's got his appetite back. He doesn't seem quite so keen on the haylage but if he's happy to eat out in his field, he can stay out till 1st October at least.

What a relief!!!

Ah, good news - in the end they will eat when they are hungry!!

Mine won't touch haylage given the choice of hay - odd isn't it?
