I convinced my hubby to buy some muckboots the other day and now I feel bad as they are rubbing his ankles and he thinks it was a waste of 70 pounds! Does the rubber part give and soften? Or does he just need to wear thicker socks... he was wearing very thin socks.

Thanks.

Mine didnt, they give me awful blisters but they are still going after 3 years of hard wear. I'm looking for something to replace them with but they are so good if it wasnt for the blisters.

I've just got my first pair and love them...but I do have to make sure that my socks are pulled up properly and as I'm a bit of a short-house, that I pull up any excess jodh from round my ankle to up above boot level (if you see what I mean) so that everthing sits nice and flush underneath the boot. Then, no rub or uncomfy-ness. ;) They are so marvellous in all other respects though that I am finding this minor adjustment to detail well worth it! :D

:-( oh dear... I do feel bad. I think these are the Derwents. I did tell him to get Hunters... mine are the comfiest things in the world... but he didn't listen to my original recommendation.

I have told him to get some proper walking socks... I don't think Umbro sports socks are quite the thing inside winter boots!!

Hopefully that will help... and making sure his jeans are smoothed out.

I've got a pair of tynes, had them 2 years * they're still in ready good condition apart from the heel going a bit. They've never rubbed and I find them really comfortable. I wear them every day at the yard and also wear them at work from 8-5 once or twice a week * wore them 8 days straight all day over the summer :)

Muck Boots are brilliant! I always wear walking socks with mine though as I walk so much on a daily basis. I have the Tyne so I can ride in them too.

DO NOT let him get Hunters - they will fall apart after a couple of months :( They really are not what they used to be....
