I love these boots and am on my 3rd pair. First 2 were the Tyne riding version and this pair are the Avon (I think). Only problem I have is the lining at the heels wears out quickly and they begin to rub. Im normally a size 6 but the 5 fits well in these so Im wondering if maybe I should get the bigger size and wear another pair of socks??? Has this happened to anyone else. These boots are the only thing that keeps my feet warm in winter so Im gutted this keeps happenning.
 
I have the tynes and they are great for warmth but yes they have worn at the heels too, lasted a couple of years though.
 
Well I loved my Tyne boots, I am on my third pair. However, the design has changed ever so slightly and both my last and current pair have split at the back seam. Also split at the side, so I'm really disappointed in them. Well devastated, really as I don't know any other similar boots that will fit my 'muscley' calves!
 
ooohhhh noooo, I love my new muck boots but won't if they become uncomfortable in the heels. Could it be that perhaps they don't fit as well as they should and so are rubbing the heels away, perhaps a bigger pair would be better. The only thing that has annoyed me so far is the lack of grip in the ice, but I love the toasty toes.
 
The Avon have great grips and were great in the snow, just arent as nice 'to look at'. I may give a bigger size a go as I cant stand tese rubbing much longer. My first 2 pairs split but they didnt leak and lasted over 2 years per pair. Its the warmth I love.
 
Every pair of Muckboots I have met have split on the back seam and on the sides of the foot. Pity because for warmth I have yet to find anything better

I love my Tyne Muckboots, live in them all winter, on my second pair, they seem to last about 2 years with me before the join between neoprene & plastic starts peeling. Great in the snow, no slipping. Cope well when yard floods a foot of water and my feet have never been cold. So easy to get on and off too, woorth every penny!
 
I had a pair that split at the back and sides of foot. Not very good design in my opinion! They were warm while they lasted but expensive to die so quickly!
I had the riding version and maybe that is what did for the sides? I only rode in them when the weather got really cold recently, as feel a numpty in them otherwise!
Am contemplatin what to get next, any ideas???
 
I had a pair of Tynes which died of old age - lasted almost 4 years.

Replaced them with some pretty horseshoe Tack muckboots which started leaking at the sides after a couple of weeks and made my feet freezing cold and gave me a chill.

Bought a pair of practical green Derwent muckboots 4 weeks ago and they are also leaking and I again have freezing cold feet, soggy socks and a chill

I am so disappointed as my ancient Tynes were fantastic it just seems these new ones aren't made so well - I intend to return both the Tack and the Derwent pairs as not fit for purpose!!
 
Try Peaklander, they do a good wellie with neoprene lining for £35 quid. Mine have kept me pretty warm this winter,certainly better grip than my previous Tyne boots and pretty much as cosy.
