Friendly and helpful local farmer removed our year’s worth of muck heap today. It can’t have been as convenient for him as usual because due to the wet winter it couldn’t go to the field over the road, which wasn’t at the right stage, so it had to go a few fields away. He’d seen that rain was forecast tonight and wanted to get onto our land beforehand.

All done, and for only a modest cost (£80). It felt like a normal spring morning, for a change, while this was in progress.

£80? That was a bargain!

I've just finished clearing the deep bed out of my barn. So satisfying to see it gone, isn't it?

Mine went a week or so ago but I must be very lucky as I don't pay nearly as much as that! I do get it done twice a year though (after winter and early autumn).

Mine is going on Monday, usually goes end March/ clock change weekend but things were still a bit wet then. TP, I too pay 80 for mine, tho it's a bit less than yours, and mine goes twice a year.

We just had ours taken away too, £35 per 10t load, bargain as far as I'm concerned, not east for the feeling of satisfaction I get from seeing the now empty space :D

We are pretty lucky, we empty our muck into a trailer & it's taken away about once a week by husband of yard owner & it gets dumped in a heap on a farmers field. He accepts muck from many yards in our area. He spreads it over his fields & it saves him money on fertiliser & does us a favour at the same time.
