hi I was just wondering what everyone does with their muck-heaps? Someone suggested to burn it but I didn't think this was allowed and am worried it might get out of control?!
I have two bays, I square off all the year's muck in one bay, it spends another year composting itself and then it is ready to use in the garden while I fill up the other bay. Self-sufficiency!!
We bag the poo and sell it on, and burn what little bit of bedding is left, but the nearest house is about 1/4 mile away, and its only burnt at night!!
it is illegal to burn it so i wouldnt recommend doing that between the hours of 9am-5.30pm mon-fri when the monitors are in their offices!!!!!
in fact u cant burn bugger all nowadays!!!!
my dad is a farmer and takes our muckheap from our small livery and a few others locally and then it disappears
I asked the farmer next door but he doesn't want to take it and have looked in ad trader but can't find anyone advertising muck removal services so might put my own ad in asking if anyone wants it?!
I gave quite a lot away on freecycle and also sold quite a bit that we bagged up or trailered to people.
The remainder was taken by our local farmer who only charged us £30.
