so here is the thing. last night i was finishing up and i was doing waters and checking the horses and ponies.
on looking in one stable of an old mare i found 3 medium puddles of mucus on the floor.
now i know that is not right.
i told the owners of the yard they said it was her wee, but i don't think it was so gang this is where i need your help!
any ideas???????
i am very worried.....

Definitely not right, and I doubt you'd mistake mucous for wee!

Not overly unusual in an old horse. Can be a sign of COPD, or of a respiratory infection, dust allergy...any number of things.

Is she your horse? If so, worth getting the vet to check her over. All of the above are treatable, but the sooner treatment is started the better.

If she isn't, then I'm not sure what you can do, other than persuading the owners to get the vet.
