mud fever cure

my horse has got mud fever so she is in at the moment
what is the best cream etc to use to cure it not prevent it?

Yes I agree, if she is in then Flamazine would be best but you would have to get it from the vet and it's expensive

It's water soluble so allows the skin to breathe, that's why I say it's best if she's in. If you were turning out you'd need more of a barrier cream like sudocrem.

Well you can use liquid parafin to prevent it - just rub well into the skin

I tried the mud fever spray, but found it quite drying on the scabs.

Fungatrol and heel to hoof are both good and sudocream with cling film wrap will take the scabs off with little discomfort.

Best thing is dermobion - sat here stroking my new 200g tub...
