... that it has gone away ok? Sorry, maybe a stupid question but my girl had bad cracked heel a couple of weeks ago which I had cleaned up and treated with sudocream and it seemed all fine, but now I wonder as have seen some scabby stuff over the old wounds is that the healing or has it come back? Not sure it could also be mud...?! Advice welcome. Will attempt to deep clean foot again (she hates me doing her back legs and kicks which can be a nightmare...)

If there is still scabby stuff the chances are its still there.

All scabs need to be removed...even if it does look pretty pink and sore, its the only way, new skin needs to develope, this should be pink (not a dark sore pink) and soft to the touch, it will also be bald but you will see new hairs sprouting through which will soon grow over in a few weeks. Always keep the area very clean and dry, during the evenings you could massage the area with some cream (of your choice) to get the the blood circulating around the skin and prevent further cracks in the skin which will lead to bacteria setting in and the who process will start again. Always rinse with cold water after shampooing with antibacterial shampoo/hibscrub this closes the pores and dry off asap.
