My little coloured mare (with pink skin) has started to show the signs of mud fever on her tummy and armpits. Her coat is starting to get "bobbly" underneath if that makes sense.
What I'd like to know is how can I stop it progressing further? Is there something I can put on as a barrier - I'd have to put it all over her tummy. I hunt once or twice a week and its so wet I hose her off afterwards. Should I leave the mud to dry and brush it off? Her legs are fine because they are not clipped.
Any ideas would be very gratefully received.
