OK, a bit silly but I went to feed my horse this morning and looked in dispair at the dried mud on her fetlocks, head and hocks. Then I thought, no, she's had a rare spell in the field yesterday where she really enjoyed herself, so many other horses are on restricted or no turnout so I should be grateful she is covered in mud! Be proud of the mud!

Maybe its just the sunshine making me feel so optimistic...!

You're lucky it's just fetlocks, face and hock  Mine are mud monsters from hoof to rug, rug flap to tail tip and neck cover to nose. And the little one is just a rare species of mud-yeti from top to toe...

But yes I totally agree - I'd rather a muddy, happy horse with turnout and freedom, than an incarcerated, bored animal.

Sorry, I'd like to trump that :D

The top of the range status symbol is mud-dreads in mane & tail, mud from below knee downwards - and ruddy great stable stains on tummy, legs & anywhere rug doesn't go  :D

Its the 'upper class look' for the horse who has the best of both worlds :D
