Hi, I have got myself a little part time job which I am made up about! Helping a private lady care for her horses.

There is a very sweet four year old that the lady wants to bring in and work with now but the first challenge is cleaning him up! The only problem is his legs, he has lots of, what the lady described of as 'mud bubbles'. We are talking golf ball sized lumps of dried mud through all of his feathers! He rattles when he walks!!

Any tips on getting it all off???

Scissors! If that's not allowed, get yourself a set of pliers and just pinch the mud balls - they'll break up with a little squeeze! Just careful you don't get it in your eyes (sometimes they explode lol).

Thank you, my first thought Was cut them off but I am not sure on the lady's view on that yet! I will try the pliers! Thanks for the tip!

I second the baby oil, leave it in a few mins and it breaks up the great big clods of mud my mare gets in her mane and I just break them apart with my fingers, obviously helps to prevent it sticking too :-)

I pour baby oil in a spray bottle and put it on their legs in winter - helps stop the mud from sticking in the first place!
