Mud Rash - Bio-Flow Boots?

My horse has had major problems with mud rash since the girl who hunted him some years ago clipped his legs (against my express instructions). I've mostly kept it under control with topical liquid paraffin and sulphur powder and feeding Global Herbs Mud-X but last year it stopped working and the poor animal was confined to barracks for the whole of the winter with horrendous sores.

I consulted the vet with a view to hitting the MR on the head and Horse ended up with a course of penicillin injections after oral antibios failed to work. The injections did the trick and the MR cleared up and stayed away.

So far so good. He's been on Mud-X from late summer and he's stayed free on the MR until just after Christmas when he got a small patch which I jumped on immediately and sorted out before it did any real damage.

My question is this: I have a pair of Bio-Flow magnetic boots which another of my horses had for her arthritis. Among other things they are supposed to support the circulation and aid healing. Has anyone any experience of using them as a preventative for mud rash? I don't intend putting them on any broken skin or sores while he has active MR but to use them as back up to prevent further out-breaks.

I have contacted Bio-Flow but they have done no research in this specific issue and have had no contact from customers who have tried them on MR - successfully or otherwise.

Any info would be of interest

Sorry, never tried for that, but swear by them for swelling etc. I suppose it would make sense if they do increase blood flow it should aid healing. I'd be intersted to know as I have a TB who is prone to fever outbreaks. Sorry I'm not much use...
