muddy feet ....

hello again......

when i get my pony from the field his feet and legs are all muddy ... the mud is wet and we arent allowed to use the hosepipe because it blocks the drains.........how can i get it off so hes legs are nice and whiteish again????

I prefer to wait until it dries and brush it off, I don't like to hose legs more than once a week as I think it can sometimes cause other problems.

Wait till the summer. Its not doing ponio any good to have legs washed IMHO. You could end up with mud fever etc.

I always wash my boys hooves with a dandy brush dipped in a bucket of water... don't really touch their legs but don't like leaving mud on their hooves as it's a nightmare to get off once it's dry.

Leave it to dry and brush it off...I leave it to dry and don't worry about it to be honest...they soon clean up on their own when the ground dries up a bit!

I would use a bucket and a brush to clean the hooves but leave the mud on the legs and brush it off in the morning.
