I'm having some lads out to sort out my gateway soon. I'm having a drainage pipe put in and a covering of stones but I don't know what stones are suitable bearing in mind the ponies will be in and out of it all day long.
Any ideas?

Dig out the topsoil (you will need a mini digger for this), put down hardcore (40 mm should do it), then a layer of blinging layer - go over it with a vibrating roller and you will have a surface that will last for years.

10mm to dust is usually blinding layer. It crushes between the larger stones and creates a barrier so that the large stones don't come up but the rain drains away.
