Can mild mudfever make a horse slightly lame? Daisy has been very slightly lame on hard ground for a couple of days, seems to be getting better now. No obvious heat or swelling, very small amount of fluid but then her legs normally have huge feathers on them so I can't compare them to what they are like normally.
One of my friends had a look for me tonight and found a small scabby patch and a bit of pus just near her ergot. I've hibiscrubbed and sudocreamed on the grounds that whatever it is it can't do any harm.
Other folk on the yard reckoned that my friend was wrong and that mudfever wouldn't make her lame. One said that her horse had it all up one leg and that he was just fine.
What do you reckon?
