Hi all,

The Boyo will be living in a couple of months over winter. I'm on full livery (Cheap and cheerful basic needs met) but the yard doesn't have enough hay nets (for number wintering in this year).

I want to buy a couple of nets for our own use, but not end up with them being used for any old horse . So looking for easily identifiable OTT, rainbow coloured nets. I saw some adverts a few months back for multicoloured and custom coloured handmade nets - but can't find the adverts anymore :( - I don't want to waste money on standard colours as they will just go walkies.

Can anyone help? I've searched the I'net and come up with zilch.

Thanks all - a glass of refreshing Italian Chardonnay or a pink waffer biscuit on offer for anyone who can help (sorry best I can do :) )

There is someone on Facebook who sells nets made from fishing type nets I think, they are very bright - I cant for the life of me remember the name - hopefully someone will know it!

To be honest I wouldn't bother, if the yard has "yard nets" then every horse will be using them at some stage. Save your self some stress and buy 2 that will get used knowing that actually everything will use them then just take 2 back at the end of the winter. I've been on a yard that works like that and just excepting that that's how they will get used will save you money and hassle walking around the yard looking for your nets :)

Just a thought :)

If you have Facebook join a group called chit chat and tack... There is someone who sells some lovely nets in lots of colours in a variety of different sizes! :)

Thanks all :)

I really don't want to buy two new nets (granted they are cheap but that's besides the point) and end up with them being wrecked by the yard biters (most of the nets are held together with baler twine having been bitten through) so getting them back after winter bitten through and repaired isn't ideal.

I'll look on chit-chat&tack - thanks again :)

Its theChit chat and tack user im thinking of - the 'brand name' is something like Mart's Nets or Nick's Nets... If you post on there asking someone will know

They are a bit like Trickle nets but cheaper and bright colours

I'd say feed them naturally on the floor! Some people hate the idea but after a VERY bad incident involving my mares leg, I won't ever use them again. I have tonnes of brightly coloured ones, tend to find them in the tack shops quite easily, or on robinsons online to! Xx
