I've just emailed a thank you to Mr and Mrs Harvie for all their help yesterday and thought I'd also write a brief something on here too as I may owe some people an apology!

Unfortunately after driving about an hour and a half of the 1 hour 45 mins to Munstead the clutch went on my lorry on the A3 at Hindhead..

After some stopping and starting and lots of phone calls to the OH for advice we managed to get her going but had to drive the last 10 miles in second gear with our hazards on.. So a big apology for holding some people up as I know I did. I especially owe a thank you to the young persons in yellow jackets for putting up with a seemingly possessed woman in a lorry with L plates shouting about not being able to stop!

I owe everyone at Munstead a thank you for the advice, the tractor tow, the coffee and running such a smart, friendly event. We will definitely be returning in the future, hopefully under our own steam and not after driving for an hour or so in 2nd gear..

We managed to get the horses and the lorry home, albeit separately (by 10pm!) and thank god for insurance! Incidently, Rachelferd, thank you for the text and sorry we didn't get to see you, your mum was as wonderful as ever.

The run was definitely worth it as it was the young horse's third BE event, after being a pig in the dressage warm up, I didn't lunge him first, silly me, he produced a slightly tense test for a 35.3.

SJ he still thinks he's a hunter (that's all he did for 3 years) and had 3 down, but I love his keen attitude, I actually think they need to be a bit bigger but his brain isn't ready for that yet! Stormed the XC for a fabby clear, as usual SJ faults put us out of any prizes, but hopefully he'll get there with yet more work. Roll on West Wilts. I know no one on here except RF has met him yet but I'll post a pic when they're up..

Thanks for reading and sorry if I held anyone on here up!

Thank you Hattikins, I'm hoping regular jumping lessons will also help, wish I had an arena to practise in though! The lorry has been deposited in front of the house tactfully not blocking my neighbour's track..

Thank you SJ, I'm hopeful that he doesn't need to do horrid warm ups to produce good tests though!

Well done on your Gatcombe result too, Sarnie looks awesome in all the pics I see of her.

Thank you V, I was most worried about getting the horses home, thank goodness I had a few helpers with me too. Mum and I have worked out that the tow truck and horsebox hire would've cost a whopping £750, so can definitely recommend being insured for horse recovery too.

Its shed loads.
We were picked up only 1 mile from home when lorry went clunk last year. Thankfully had already dropped horse off.
If I hadnt had the insurance that woudl have cost so much - certainly worth it, and shop around for it also.

Was just wondering if you had managed to get home ok!

Poor mum drove to epsom to see boyfriends cut off finger, then ended up driving me over to east grinstead following the ambulance and then hung around until about nine at night.

Unfortunately due to the finger incident I couldn't come over to Munstead - had walked the course the day before though. Ground was hard, so probably good it had that rain. Course looked nice mainly, although there was that random HUGE hay rack with the brush on top that seemed too stiff to be bullfinch?

Sounds like G is coming on steadily though, and congrats to Katy too - huge improvement from her first attempt at B&W, she has improved loads!

What exactly did he do to nearly cut off his finger Rachel?! Your mum is always fantastic, Katy was taking pics of *that* tail plait all day!! I know what you mean about the random hay rack, I must confess that we were disunited a few strides away but he's so keen he doesn't seem to mind the odd big'un, it did look massive though..

Katy was thrilled but I think will be sticking at Intro this season, although her mum is talking about selling superstar pony. (Nooo!)
