Well went to see him and he wasnt as i was told, he was in a small paddock and when i called him he came trotting over to see me. He is a little underweight as owner has him out grazing in the wee paddock that has very little grass, he wasnt getting anything else.
Brought him inside, got hubby to walk him about and we gave him some haylage (after asking owner). I also groomed him and he groomed me back lol. Collecting him on wednesday, and i cant wait!
Oh when i put him back out in the paddock he took off at a canter, hmmm so much for on his last legs!!!
The day after i was at the vets with the dogs, turns out hes the same vet that he uses. He said he thinks an amazing thing that im rescuing an old man as he said he didnt feel right having to put him to sleep. He also offered me discount on any medication he may need in the future, turns out he knew murphy when he was younger too. I asked if i was just prolonging the unthinkable and he disagreed, said that the horse can still be rode a couple times a week, however light work, also thinks hes got years left in him.
